NiemannEven though the election results have been certified in favor of Deni Taveras, more developments in the District 2 race for the Prince George’s County Council still leave room for change.

The Washington Post reports that Doyle Niemann has requested a recount of some of the votes. Niemann lost the Democratic nomination by only six votes.

According to the Post:

Niemann’s attorney, Jonathan Shurberg, filed the petition late Thursday, alleging the Board of Elections committed a legal error when they rejected about two dozen provisional ballots.

The ballots have to be recounted in the next two days.
