Hyattsville Middle School teacher Reuben Burrows is a finalist for the Gazette newspaper’s Prince George’s County “My Favorite Teacher” contest. Burrows, one of eight nominees, is the school’s vocal music and piano lab teacher.

According to his profile on the Gazette‘s website:

Burrows, who has taught for seven years, received his B.S. in music education from Towson University and M.M.E from Shenandoah University. Were he not teaching, he’d be “acting and writing, because I simply cannot function without playing a character and making people feel something.”
A post from the Hyattsville Middle School CPA 10 Year Anniversary Facebook group shows that Burrows previously won the contest in 2012.

Voting is will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 7. More information about nominees can be viewed on the contest’s website.
