According to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Green Line trains will run every 20 minutes from 10:00pm Friday, September12 to system close Sunday evening.  Trains normally run every 12 minutes.

The delays are due to work being performed on a rail tie, fastener and insulator, along with construction on a test track for new 7000 series rail cars between Prince George’s Plaza and Greenbelt, according to WMATA.

Metro says it is investing $5.5 billion on system improvements, which include new rail, ties, platforms, escalators, signals, lighting, communication systems, and more.
