Early voting numbers in for local districts

BY REBECCA BENNETT — Maryland’s 2014 Gubernatorial primary election takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 24.  Click here to look up your polling information, and a list of candidates can be found online as well.

 

The numbers are in for early and absentee voting:

DISTRICT 22 (includes most of the City of Hyattsville):

  • Approximate number of early voters: 1,822 (3%)
  • Approximate number of absentee ballots: 147
  • Total number of eligible voters: 59,293

DISTRICT 47B (includes part of University Hills, University Town Center, the Mall at Prince George’s, and the area around Home Depot.)

  • Approximate number of early voters: 203 (1.7%)
  • Approximate number of absentee ballots: 15
  • Total number of eligible voters: 11,782

In early 2012, the City of Hyattsville was split between two different legislative districts in a massive redistricting effort by the State of Maryland.
