Prince George’s County residents will soon head to the polls to elect a candidate to represent District 2, which includes Hyattsville. Recently, Streetcar Suburb News Executive Director Kit Slack sat down for a video interview with the two candidates–Victor R. Ramirez and Daniel Armando Jones.
Candidate Victor Ramirez, a Democrat from Hyattsville, was a District 47 state delegate from 2003 to 2011—one of the first two Latinos elected to the House of Delegates. He served as a state senator from 2011 to 2019. In 2018, he ran for Prince George’s County state’s attorney but lost in that primary with 27% of the vote.
Early voting has already started, but the polls open for the general election on June 23. Here is our conversation with the candidate.
