Prince George’s County residents will soon head to the polls to elect a candidate to represent District 2, which includes Hyattsville. Recently, Streetcar Suburb News Executive Director Kit Slack sat down for a video interview with the two candidates–Victor R. Ramirez and Daniel Armando Jones.

Hyattsville resident Daniel Armando Jones is a first-time candidate. Jones, a Democrat, works as the legislative affairs manager for America’s Essential Hospitals, a national advocacy group for hospitals in underserved communities.

Jones has focused his career on legislative work. He was a legislative fellow in the office of U.S. Rep. Darren Soto of Florida through the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, where he at one time served as a STEM public policy specialist. He also is a former legislative assistant in the office of Rep. Charlie Crist of Florida.

Early voting has already started, but the polls for the general election is June 23. Here is our conversation with the candidate.
