The youngest volunteer honored at Hyattsville Aging in Place’s first annual Volunteer Appreciation and Anniversary Celebration was 5-year-old Claire Alolga, who holds here the chocolate rose she received at the event. Claire serves as “co-pilot” when her mother, Suzanne, volunteers with driving duties for senior residents of the town. According to her mother, Claire “holds purses, opens doors and gets hard candy” as part of her volunteer efforts. The event was held in the municipal building on February 8.
