The Maryland Department of Transportation’s Purple Line has been under construction for almost a decade, and the light rail system is anticipated to be fully operational by the end of 2027.
When finished, the line will allow riders to move easily between Montgomery County and Prince George’s County without having to ride into Central Washington. Unlike Riverdale and College Park, Hyattsville communities are not directly impacted by the construction of the railway, but local residents who navigate the roads and streets of the area have strong opinions.
We sent our reporter out into the streets to hear from commuters.
