This holiday season, many of us are busy buying gift cards for teachers and carrying cash for extra tips, thinking about how best to appreciate the people we rely on. And here at the College Park Here & Now, we do hope you rely on us.

We work hard to bring you all the news that’s fit to print — and more — every month. Our volunteer reporters attend city council meetings, delve into local issues, cover schools and county organizations, and work every day of the week to keep you up to date with local events and developing stories.

During this season of appreciation, we need your help, and we need it now. Streetcar Suburbs Publishing, our parent company, has set their sights on raising $13,000 in donations from you, our readers, by the end of the year. We have $9,000 still to go.

The Here & Now has a lot planned for the coming year, but we won’t be able to do it all without your help. If we don’t hit our fundraising goal, we may not be able to fully cover the city’s government, county schools and local developments. And we hope to add Spanish content this coming year, but we need your support to do so.

We hope we can count on you to chip in. Your generosity will help us deliver news to every home in the city, every month. For free.

Give now to support local news.

To support us, donate at omella.com/streetcarsuburbs or send a check to Streetcar Suburbs Publishing, PO Box 132, Hyattsville, Md. 20781. Newsmatch, a collective fundraising campaign supporting public service and investigative journalism, has pledged to match donations we receive before Dec. 31 dollar for dollar.

If just 90 of our 30,000 readers in College Park chip in $100, we will meet our goal!  And we thank you, in advance, for your generous support.
