BY KRISSI HUMBARD — At approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department and Hyattsville City Police Department (CPD) responded to a citizen’s report of a body in a grassy area between the 3300 block of East West Highway and the 6100 block of Editor’s Park Drive in Hyattsville. When officers arrived, they found the victim, a Hispanic male, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Brandon Sorto of 29th Avenue in Hyattsville.

CPD said this is the first homicide in the City of Hyattsville since 2014.
