BY CHRIS CURRIE — More than 100 Hyattsville residents, including many young children, regaled Crittenden Street and Melrose Trail Wednesday evening in a procession replete with homemade lanterns and hymns honoring a fifth-century Catholic saint.  “Martinmas,” the traditional name for St. Martin of Tours’ feast day, has long been a popular celebration in Europe, where it functions as a sort of Mardi Gras celebration just prior to the start of the Advent season.  Here in Hyattsville, the procession was followed by a bonfire and a pot-luck smorgasbord of autumn treats.
