BY REBECCA BENNETT — On Oct. 26, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Prince George’s County received the Maryland Governor’s Service Award for Nonprofit Program in recognition of significant contributions and sustained commitment to meeting the state’s most pressing needs, a press release said.

CASA, based in Riverdale, Md., recruits, trains and supervises volunteers to become advocates for abused and neglected children in foster care in Prince George’s County.
