Hyattsville Police Corporal Jonathan Monge was arrested Nov. 20 on charges of sexual abuse of a minor, second-degree rape, and sex offense in the third and fourth degree, according to press releases today from the Hyattsville Police Department and the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney.

According to the HPD, Monge is on administrative leave without pay as the department conducts a separate internal administrative investigation.

Monge has been with the HPD since the summer of 2020, and previously served for almost five years with the New Carrolton Police Department, according an HPD post on Facebook. He was a member of the Hyattsville’s Crisis Intervention Team in 2021, also according to the HPD on Facebook.

Both the HPD and the county state’s attorneys office said they would release no more information.
