Friday, Feb. 17:

Ageless Grace: A seated exercise class, set to great music. Free. 10 – 11 a.m., each Wednesday and Friday through February, Hyattsville Municipal Building

Toddler Time at Artworks: Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment. Magic salt painting: Using glue, salt, and watercolor, toddlers will explore how different materials interact while making cool art! $9, 10 a.m.-noon, Art Works Now

Black History Month Pop-up Storytime: Join us for a special storytime at the Waterhole. Stories and songs will celebrate Black History Month. Every child will get to make and take home a craft. Ages 0-5 years old. Free. 10 a.m., The Waterhole, 4004 34th St., Mt. Rainier

Coffee Cupping: The weekly coffee cuppings are a great way to learn more about coffee, broaden your understanding of origins, flavors, aromas, enhance your palate, and try a wide variety of coffees in one sitting. We love to share our passion for coffee and this very relaxed setting creates a great environment for anyone to learn, question, and experiment in. Free, 1 p.m., Vigilante Coffee

Magic: The Gathering Club: Come cast spells and battle wizards in our favorite fantasy card game.  Bring your own cards or use the ones we have here.  All experience levels welcome, from never-played to expert. Free. 4:30-5:30 p.m., Hyattsville Branch Library

LIVE! from Busboys: A Busboys and Poets in-house series! “LIVE! from Busboys” is an open mic talent showcase that offers a platform for all performers, not just poets. Whether you are a musician, comedian, dancer, actor, magician or any other type of performer, we want to see what you got! Come out and showcase your talents! Hosted by Angie Head. On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased online here starting at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10 a.m. (cash only). No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Tickets will be sold at the door, if available. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event. Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. $5 cover. 10 p.m.-midnight, Hyattsville Busboys and Poets

Saturday, Feb. 18:

Non-Native Invasive Plant Removal: Volunteers will be instructed in the identification and proper removal of threatening plants. Volunteers are reminded to dress for the elements: sturdy boots or shoes, long sleeves and long pants. You will get dirty! A set of safety guidelines and cotton work gloves will be provided. Please remember to bring water and sunscreen. Participation in this activity helps to satisfy the State of Maryland Student Service Learning requirement. Registration is encouraged but not required. Rockin Tots: Young artists will get a chance to get a little exposure in voice, piano, drums and beatboxing all while jamming out with the coolest moms or dads ever, soon to be toddler bandmates, and one of the Just Rock artist instructors. $15 per rockin tot and $10 per rockin tot sibling (per class). Monthly deals are available. Register 24 hours in advance; no drop-ins. Ages 0-5. 10-10:45 a.m.; Just Rock Studio, 4344 Farragut St., 2nd Floor

Third Saturday Readings: Laura Fargas, Eric D. Goodman, and Heather Rounds will read from their works. Hosted by Sid Gold. Bring your own work to read after the authors’ readings. Free. 2-4 p.m., Robert Harper Books

Singles Saturday Happy Hour: Calling all singles — this happy hour is for you! Join matchmaker Millie Holmes for a singles happy hour event. 2-4 p.m., Carolina Kitchen

Dance Performance: Paula Brown Performing Arts Center presents “Standing Shoulder to Shoulder with Love in our Community.” Free. 2-3 p.m., Mall at Prince Georges, Center Court

Hidden Figures: Learn about inventions and patents by African-American scientists and thinkers. Make a drawing of a patents or an invention. Free. 3-4 p.m., Hyattsville Branch Library

#womensmarch Installation: The Women’s March on Washington had a great impact on a great many people. In an effort to keep the conversation going, and keep us all engaged, Studio SoHy is collaborating with Pyramid Atlantic in creating a #womensmarch installation. The special opening for this exhibit will include poster viewing, and artists Soul & Ink will live screen print resistance posters and tees. Attendees can also participate in the postcard writing event with cards designed by local designer, Betsy Martin.Bring a poster if you have one to add to the installation. Free. 4-7 p.m., Tiny Hall space located inside Vigilante

JLOC Swing Dance: The Junior Ladies of Charity is excited to host its Annual Swing Dance! This year the goal is to raise money for the Gabriel Network. The dance will be Valentine’s Day themed, with dance lessons from 7-8 p.m. and an open dance floor from 8-11 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Children 5 and under are free, children 6-11 are $5, and 12+ are $10. 7-11 p.m., Gold Room at St. Jerome’s Church.

The Blue Light Basement with Earl Carter and Mike Stephens: Vendor Nation LLC and The Carolina Kitchen bring you the first of the “Blue Light Basement Series.” Join us for a post-Valentine evening of smooth jazz with guitarist Earl Carter and saxophonist Mike Stephens. Performing two evening shows. Includes dinner from our select menu. *Beverages and gratuities are not included. Seating is extremely limited. $40.

Moose Jaw Bluegrass: Moose Jaw is Prince George’s County’s premiere bluegrass ensemble! Organized as a cooperative, they perform traditional, not-so-traditional, original and not-so-original tunes for varying audiences throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Sunday, Feb. 19:

Arrow Sunday Bike Ride: The Sunday ride is a 32-mile, moderately paced ride that emphasizes group riding techniques. Those new to group riding are welcome as we regroup throughout the ride so that nobody is left behind. Call to confirm dates, time and any specific requirements. Ride starts at 9 a.m., Arrow Bicycle

Out of the Shadows: Illuminating African Americans: The Calvert family papers now on loan to Riversdale are yielding more information about the estate’s African American residents, both enslaved and free. With this exhibit, we bring their stories out of the shadows. Viewing the exhibit includes a tour of the historic house. All ages welcome. $5 adult; $4 senior; $2 student; FREE ages 4 & under. Noon-3:30 p.m., Riversdale House Museum

World View Reception: An exhibition of 41 multimedia works by members of the Hyattsville Community Arts Alliance. Exhibit runs through March 3. Don’t forget to spread the word and bring friends and family — guests get a free beer or glass of wine! 3-5 p.m., Franklins Restaurant & Brewery
