Head of the class: Academic Honors for Laurel Students

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, an all-discipline collegiate honor society, initiated the following students during the spring semester: Anis Amrane, Sadia Alam, Danielle Clifford-Earles, Naveed Naqvi and Nehal Naqvi at University of Maryland, Baltimore campus; Braxton Campbell, Jeffrey Layne Jr., Elvis Nji, Gary Patishnock, Osman Samura and Kehinde Taiwo at University of Maryland Global Campus, a virtual program based in College Park; Colleen Kane, Thomas Kriner and Alice Swift  at University of Maryland, College Park; Kimberly Altema at Florida State University.

 

Victoria Porter was named to the spring 2023 president’s list at the University of Bridgeport, in Connecticut.

Taylor Denny graduated from the University of Tampa with a B.S. degree in sport management.

 

Nayab Khan graduated magna cum laude from Baldwin Wallace University, in Ohio, with a B.S. degree in biology. He was also named to the spring 2023 dean’s list and received the outstanding senior award for his contributions to the university community in academics, leadership, service and character.

 

Xander Cikanek was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

 

Madison Davis and Kyle Jeffers were named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Pennsylvania’s Slippery Rock University. 

Clementina Nwandu earned a post-graduate certificate (psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner) from Shenandoah University in Virginia. 

Quante Redd and Anna Irwin were named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Shenandoah University where Redd also earned a spot on the athletic director’s list.

Zaria Byrd earned a B.B.A. degree in entrepreneurship, with a minor in international business from Georgia State University. 

Cecilia Fenstermaker was named to the spring 2023 dean’s honor list at New York’s Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Jazzmin Holland graduated with a M.S. in nursing (psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner) from Regis College in Massachusetts.

Ayobomi Adefioye graduated with a doctorate in pharmacy and Theresa Guillory graduated with a master’s in nursing from Cedarville University, in Ohio, in spring 2023. Mitchell Calloway was named to the spring 2023 semester dean’s list at Cedarville University.

For the spring 20203 semester, Marina Cohen was named to the president’s list and Kevin Scanlon was named to the dean’s list at James Madison University in Virginia.

Jack Johnson earned a B.B.A. degree in finance and Sienna Shiblie earned a B.S. degree in sociology from James Madison University.

Tatiana Hamilton was recognized with highest honors and Kevin Munford was recognized with honors for the spring 2023 semester at McDaniel College.

McDaniel College also announced the following residents received degrees: Justin LaRoc, B.A. degree in accounting economics and business administration; Marcus Richardson, B.A. degree in biology; Caleb Evans, B.A. degree in kinesiology; Tristan Rhodovi, B.A. degree in criminal justice and accounting.

The following residents received master’s degrees from McDaniel College: Maame Baffour, master’s degree in human services management; John Ballentine, master’s degree in curriculum and instruction; Evelyn Harris, a master’s degree in elementary education; Liana Reilly, master’s degree in curriculum and instruction; Courtney Smith, master’s degree in reading specialist; and Djnab Williams, master’s degree in elementary education.

Eric Grinwis received $1,000 as the community changer winner of McDaniel’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge.

Olamide Oluwafemi was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list  at Hofstra University in New York.

Tyler Rhodes was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Mariah Smolka graduated from The College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota with a Master of Science in chemistry. 

William Tarpine earned a B.A. degree cum laude from Albright College in Pennsylvania.

Madison Jones earned a B.A. degree in entrepreneurship and marketing from Ohio’s Marietta College. Jones also was recognized during the 2023 commencement ceremony for being inducted into the National Society for Leadership and Success.

Morgan Jones, Alayna Munoz, Jonathan Reid and Samantha Turner were named to the dean’s list at York College of Pennsylvania.

York College of Pennsylvania announced the following residents received degrees: Alayna Munoz, B.S. in supply chain operations management; Jonathan Reid, B.S. in biological sciences; Samantha Turner, B.S. in music (music industry and recording technology).

Mateo Tucker was named to the 2023 spring semester dean’s list at Bridgewater College, Virginia.

Southern New Hampshire University announced that Britni Cralle, Desmond Sensie and Carlos Kerrick were named to the spring 2023 president’s list. Ellena Cherry was named to the school’s winter 2023 dean’s list.

Victoria Guillory was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Belhaven University in Mississippi.

Jasmine Diaz-Martinez was initiated into the Loyola University Maryland Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society.

Kyujin Milstead received the student employee of the year award from Frostburg State University at the 2023 Leadership and Engagement Awards celebration.

Tyler Rhodes graduated with a B.S. in business management from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
