In a Jan.18 press release, the Prince George’s County Police Department announced the arrest that day of Romel Johnson, 22, of Laurel; Dream Edwards, 26, of Columbia and Michael Jordan Thompson, 34, of the District. The department’s gang unit made the arrests

As they executed a search warrant at a house on Avebury Drive, detectives discovered four firearms and 300 fentanyl pills along with a number of other items. A subsequent search of two vehicles connected to the suspects led to the recovery of an AK-47, 3 pounds of marijuana and 3,000 fentanyl pills.

The investigative work leading to the seizures was made possible through funding provided by a Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network grant awarded by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services.

Edwards and Johnson face multiple charges including firearms and drug trafficking-related offenses. Thompson is charged with multiple drug-related offenses. The suspects are in the custody of the Prince George’s Department of Corrections.
