The Laurel Independent and Streetcar Suburbs Publishing will host a Prince George’s County Council District 1 candidate forum this evening at the Laurel Boys and Girls Club at 7 p.m.
District 1 includes the City of Laurel, West Laurel, South Laurel, Beltsville, Calverton and communities in Adelphi and College Park.
Candidates Michelle García, Martin Mitchell and Darwin Romero will attend the event, which will include a moderated discussion and Q&A with community members. The Laurel Independent staff will moderate the event, which will be livestreamed on its Facebook page.

This is a gubernatorial election year. Voters will elect not only county candidates, but also statewide offices including governor, seats in the Maryland General Assembly and congressional offices. The primary election will take place June 23, followed by the general election Nov. 3.
