Unofficial results from the Maryland Board of Elections show that 356,000 Prince George’s County residents voted in the presidential election last week.

More than 300,000 voted for Kamala Harris, compared to 39,000 for Donald Trump.

Turnout was down from the 2020 election, when more than 427,000 of the county’s approximately 600,000 registered voters cast their ballots: 379,000 for Biden, and 37,000 for Trump that year.

The lower turnout among Democrats reflects a national trend.

U.S. Senator. County Executive Angela Alsobrooks won nearly 83% of the vote in Prince George’s County in her race for U.S. Senator, compared to 53% in the State of Maryland overall.

Reproductive rights. On the state constitutional amendment to protect reproductive rights, 297,000 Prince George’s County residents voted in favor, and 42,000 voted against. That’s about 88% in favor in our county, stronger support than the 75% statewide.

Circuit court judges. In the contested election for circuit court judges for Prince George’s County, challenger Michael Sheehan, who ran partly on an anti-Hogan platform, got only 11.6% of the vote. He lost to incumbents Darren Johnson, Stenise Rolle, Cheri Simpkins, and Donnell Turner.

U.S. House of Representatives. As expected, U.S. Congressman Glenn Ivey (District 4) kept his seat, with over 202,000 votes in his favor compared to just 24,000 for Republican challenger George McDermott.

County Council At Large. County Councilmember Jolene Ivey was more popular with voters than her husband Glenn, winning the open County Council At Large Seat with support from 296,000 voters.

Notably, Jolene Ivey’s Republican challenger Michael Riker earned 40,000 votes; among Prince George’s County voters, that’s 1,000 more than Donald Trump.

School Board. For the open seat on Prince George’s County Board of Education for  District 1, which includes Laurel, Tiffini Andorful beat out Donna Barriteau, with more than 18,000 votes compared to around 10,000.

These are unofficial election results where Hyattsville, College Park, and Laurel voters helped determine the outcome. Complete unofficial election results for the county can be found here
