The Hyattsville Life & Times has received reports of multiple gunshots fired at Hyattsville Crossing Metro Station. No one is believed to be injured at this time, however there are significant delays along the Green and Yellow lines as a result of the station being temporarily closed due to a police investigation.
There are also now confirmed reports by the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department of a man hit by a metro train at the West Hyattsville Station. The pedestrian has been removed from the tracks and is being treated by EMS.

The Life & Times observed a heavy police presence at both metro stations starting around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, with roughly 10 Metro Transit Police SUVs coordinating in the parking lot at the West Hyattsville station by 3:20 p.m. The Hyattsville Crossing station has been temporarily closed, and currently passengers can only disembark at that station; they cannot board trains for either direction. Both the Green and Yellow lines are still experiencing delays and have been single-tracking this afternoon.
There is no current evidence that the two incidents are related. The Life & Times will update this post as more information becomes available.
