BY REBECCA BENNETT — Former Mount Rainier councilmember Jimmy Tarlau in on his way to Annapolis as an incoming Maryland state delegate for District 47A. A bon voyage party and fundraiser for the freshman delegate was held at Urban Eats Cafe on Dec. 3.

Tarlau announced Sunday that he plans to set up a legislative district office in the local area. He said he is in need of used furniture, specifically desks, tables, book shelves, filing cabinets, etc., that would be available for free or very little cost.

“There is very little money for state legislators to use for rent and furnishings.  I have to make a little money go a long way,” Tarlau said.

Tarlau will join Diana Fennell (D-47A) from Colmar Manor and Will Campos (D-47B) from the City of Hyattsville this term.
