At least three people were shot and two others stabbed in two separate incidents near Amigos Mexican Grill in Laurel on Tuesday night, according to the Laurel Police Department.

The incidents occurred in the 13600 block of Baltimore Avenue at the Centre at Laurel shopping center near Amigos Mexican Grill shortly after 9 p.m. Police said three people were shot in one incident, while two others were stabbed in a separate incident in the same area. All injured victims were taken to local hospitals. Police did not provide updates on their conditions.

“At this time, it is unknown whether the two incidents are related. Our investigators are actively working to determine any connections, and we will share additional information as it becomes available,” the department said in a message posted to its Facebook page at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The incidents were reported separately to police following a Cinco de Mayo gathering at Amigos Mexican Grill, according to WUSA 9.
