BY REBECCA BENNETT — According to the Hyattsville City Police Department (HCPD), a woman was sexually assaulted while taking out her trash on Oct. 11.  Authorities said the incident happened in the 5700 block of 29th Avenue.

The victim, according to police, was taking trash to dumpster at approximately 11:00 p.m. when she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man with a knife.  The suspect punched her in the face when she screamed, police said, but she was able to get away and run back into her apartment.

Police said the suspect was described as a black male in his 20’s, 5 feet 5 inches and 140 lbs.
