BY KRISSI HUMBARD — On April 24, the Hyattsville Life & Times hosted the 2019 Hyattsville City Council Candidate Forum, which brought together both candidates running for mayor and all 11 of the candidates running for Hyattsville City Council seats.

The 2019 Candidate Forum is available for playback streaming online. The forum will also air on local TV stations (Verizon channel 12 and Comcast channel 71) at the following times, everyday, through May 8: 4:55 a.m., 9:55 a.m., 2:55 p.m. and 5:55 p.m.

The candidates were asked questions about development, infrastructure, schools, affordable housing, residential and public parking, council leadership, the environment, and furthering our age-friendly community. The candidates were also given an opportunity to introduce themselves and explain why they are running for their seat.
Questions were chosen from those sent in by residents before the forum.
To find out more about the candidates, check out the 2019 City Council Candidates Guide.
