BY ROSANNA LANDIS-WEAVER — On July 2, 2014, the Hyattsville Middle School choir was the first middle school to perform the Star Spangled Banner at a professional sports event when they sang the anthem before the Nationals Game.

When they were invited back in 2015, director Reuben Burrows — who also had written an original arrangement of the song for them — invited alumni to join in the choir. After just two rehearsals, they performed on July 6, 2015. Mr. Burrows put together this youtube compilation. Music begins at 2:07, but commentary before is fun too.
