Suspects steal cash, pizza when delivery driver asks for directions

BY REBECCA BENNETT — According to the Hyattsville City Police Department (HCPD) a pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint when he stopped to ask for directions on May 30. The incident, HCPD said, occurred near Hamilton Street and 42nd Avenue.

Police said that just before 10 p.m., the delivery driver flagged down a group of men to ask for directions.  One of them displayed a handgun and demanded property.  The suspects then made off with cash, a cell phone, a tablet, as well as the pizza he was about to deliver, authorities said.

The suspects, according to police, are described as black males. The suspect armed with a handgun is described as approximately 5′ 8”, 160 pounds and wearing a black shirt.
