BY PAULA MINAERT — Interviews to fill some of the city’s vacant staff positions are planned for this month, according to Mayor Marc Tartaro.

“I hope we’ll have interviews for city clerk, director of Department of Public Works and city administrator by mid- to late October,” he said. Staff has developed written assessment tools for all three positions, he added, and using them has enabled the hiring panel to come up with a short list of candidates for the clerk position.

“We did it for the clerk and it was amazing the quality of the responses we got back,” said Tartaro.

This is the first time the City has used such assessment tools.
