BY REBECCA BENNETT —The Baltimore Business Journal (BBJ) mentioned the soon-to-come Whole Foods in Riverdale and the expectation that it will bring with it other high-end retailers:

Cafritz and county officials declined to identify which retailers have expressed interest.

“Whole Foods always attracts the same kind of retail customer, and I think that’s what this community is excited about,” Cafritz said. “Their usual retailers that follow the Whole Foods, those are the retailers that are going to be in this project.”

Cafritz envisions a mix of restaurants and retailers at the site, everything from white tablecloth spots to more casual fare.

BBJ reported that Whole Foods regional president Scott Allshouse commented that the decision to place a Whole Foods at this location was because it felt like it belonged there.

Hyattsville Wire mentioned how the Carfritz-Whole Foods project is a part of a Route 1 Renaissance.
