BY REBECCA BENNETT — According to the Hyattsville City Police Department (HCPD), authorities are searching for a suspect in a string of sexual assaults near the residential homes of EYA East, which is just north of the Shoppes at Arts District.

HCPD said on May 26 just after 4 p.m., a woman was pushing her child in a stroller in the 5600 block of 45th Avenue when a man drove past her in a light or metallic blue sedan.  A short time later, police said that man walked up behind her pretending to be looking for his wallet or cell phone when he grab her butt as she walked past him.  He then fled.

A third incident happened along the same stretch of trail in Riverdale Park on June 8 at 7 p.m.  Last night, police said, a woman was jogging along the trail when a man in a ski masked approached her.  As he got closer, the suspect reached out and tried to touch her.  The woman pushed him away and he fled towards Oliver Street.
