BY REBECCA BENNETT — According to the Hyattsville City Police Department (HCPD), authorities are searching for a suspect in a string of sexual assaults near the residential homes of EYA East, which is just north of the Shoppes at Arts District.

HCPD said on May 26 just after 4 p.m., a woman was pushing her child in a stroller in the 5600 block of 45th Avenue when a man drove past her in a light or metallic blue sedan.  A short time later, police said that man walked up behind her pretending to be looking for his wallet or cell phone when he grab her butt as she walked past him.  He then fled.

On June 4 at 3 p.m, authorities said it happened again just across the town line in Riverdale Park on the hiker/biker trail between Madison Street and Queensbury Road.  Another woman was walking with her child in a carrier, police said, when the suspect walked towards the victim acting if he was looking for his wallet or cell phone.  As she walked past him, the man grabbed her butt and ran away, according to Riverdale Park Police.
