BY KRISSI HUMBARD — The City of Hyattsville hosted its third Summer Jam of the season on July 15, which coincided with the Hyattsville City Police Department’s open house. There were police vehicles on display, and residents were able to tour the police department and learn about the types of technology the department uses. Officers also showed a video on Civilian Response to Active Shooter. Police officers also provided the music for the night. The band “Just Us,” featuring Lt. Chris Purvis and Cpl. Tony Thurston (Ret.), played for attendees.
