PHOTO: Hit-and-run driver knocks down trees, damages fence on East West Highway

Posted on: January 21, 2016

BY REBECCA BENNETT — On Wednesday evening and into this morning, the icy road conditions caused several accidents in the City of Hyattsville.  Before heading to work Thursday morning, Hyattsville resident Elizabeth Pfaffenroth said she noticed a car had gone off the road, took down three trees in their front yard and damaged their fence.  That driver left the scene of the accident, but the car’s front license plate was still stuck in the fence.

Pfaffenroth said that while they were standing in front of the house, another car spun around on East West Highway and began traveling the wrong direction.
