Posted on: November 27, 2014

BY REBECCA BENNETT — On Monday, Nov. 24, Community Ministry of Prince George’s County (CMPGC) gave away Thanksgiving food baskets to approximately 450 families at the First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville.

CMPGC Executive Director Jimmie Slade said, “Community Ministry has truly been blessed this year.”  CMPGC paid for most of the turkeys for the 2014 food baskets, according to Slade.

According to CMPGC, who celebrated its 41st anniversary this week, they also provided produce to more than 100 families on Monday, as well as lunch to an additional 100 people in the Community Place Café, which operates year-round.
