Local art exhibit rethinks landscape

Posted on: July 18, 2014

The current exhibit at the artdc Gallery in Hyattsville is”Welcome to Wonderland: Rethinking Landscape.”

The Gazette caught up with two artists with landscaping abstracts in the exhibit, Robert Long of Hyattsville and Laurence Chandler of Lanham:

One of Long’s pieces is entitled, “38.9716666666667, -76.9649833333333 (section 1)” — named after the longitude and latitude coordinates for the site on a tributary of the Anacostia River where materials used in the piece were derived, and which the piece represents.

A full list of artists is on the artdc website.

There is still some time to catch the exhibit, which you can view at the Lustine Center on Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville.  It runs through July 27.
