Hyattsville police apprehend suspect in several car vandalisms, thefts

BY REBECCA BENNETT — According to Hyattsville City Police, at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, officers responded to a report of a man busting off rear view mirrors in the 3900 block of Hamilton Street near Magruder Park.

Officers said they found the suspect not far away in the 4000 block of Hamilton Street, where they noticed a large number of car phone chargers around his neck and that he was carrying an Audi automobile manual.

According to police, a witness identified the man as having damaging nine vehicles parked near Magruder Park. Officers said they discovered the same man also vandalized and stole property from three other vehicles parked in the 4000 block of Hamilton Street.
