Creative Kids Day: All-day, structured art classes offered on days when Prince George’s Public Schools are off. Young artists are invited for hands-on art activities that teach skills in art materials, core principals of art, and insights into world cultures. Before and After-Care available. Toddler Time at Artworks: Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment. Under adult supervision toddlers will create stress balls by filling deflated balloons with various items with different textures (rice, flour, beans). Teacher will help decorate stress balls with sharpies. $9, 10 a.m.-noon, Art Works Now

Coffee Cupping: The weekly coffee cuppings are a great way to learn more about coffee, broaden your understanding of origins, flavors, aromas, enhance your palate, and try a wide variety of coffees in one sitting. Chocolate Cities & Sacred Cows Exhibition Opening: Chocolate Cities Group Exhibition is a multidisciplinary art exhibition highlighting the changing cultural and economic landscape of Washington, DC, and Prince George’s County, through the eyes of local artists. “Sacred Cows” features Imar Hutchins’ portraits, which are not only adorned in elaborate jewelry and colorful symbolism, but also cloaked in honor. Inspired by the reverence bestowed upon cows in India, Hutchins’ latest series of collage and mixed media work offers unique commentary on the treatment of Black people in America. Unshrink My Heart: The DIY arts and crafts icon from the 80’s is back! And nothing says “love” like a hand-made pre-shrunk Valentine. Ice Skating Fundraiser for Hyattsville Elementary School: Join students, parents, and community members of Hyattsville Elementary School (HES) for this Ice Skating fundraiser!
