According to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Green Line trains will run every 20 minutes from 10 p.m. Friday, October 31 to system close Sunday evening.  Trains normally run every 12 minutes.

The delays are due to work being performed on a rail tie, fastener, insulator and joint elimination between Prince George’s Plaza and Greenbelt, according to WMATA.

Other lines will experience substantial delays as well, including the Orange, Silver and Blue Lines, where trains will also run every 20 minutes.  Check WMATA.com for a complete list of track work this weekend.

Metro says it is investing $5.5 billion on system improvements, which include new rail, ties, platforms, escalators, signals, lighting, communication systems, and more.
