BY REBECCA BENNETT — They have already been around for a few weeks, but there are still plenty of copies of the 2015 Maryland Milestones calendars at the Hyattsville Municipal Building. Residents can pick up a copy on the first floor of 4310 Gallatin Street.
This year’s photos include a snowy Jim Henson and Kermit statue, a snow-covered College Park Airport, a close up of the brand new Undaunted in Battle memorial, a photo of the Battle of Bladensburg anniversary, the Bostwick Spring Festival, as well some local nature shots and more.
An insert in the middle of the calendar prompts entries for the next calendar, due by Sept. 15, 2015. Submissions are accepted in digital, 5×7 print, or 4×6 print. Categories include “Rivers to Rockets,” “For the Fun of It,” “Expressions of Art,” and “Nature of the Area.
