BY REBECCA BENNETT — The cat is out of the bag! Mike Franklin, owner of Franklin’s Restaurant, Brewery and General Store, is set to open an upscale location in a proposed luxury hotel on Route 1 in College Park. The new location will be joined by an Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, the first in Prince George’s County, according to The Washington Post.

“I am very excited about it,” Mike Franklin said. “There isn’t any fine dining in any part of the northern part of the county. I feel like we’ll fill a niche that has been lacking.”

The development has been delayed by height restrictions caused by the nearby College Park Airport, according to The Washington Post.

The next step, Franklin said, is waiting for the hotel to be built.
