Residents are eligible to vote in City of Hyattsville elections if they are at least 16 years of age; have been a resident of the city for at least 30 days; do not claim the right to vote elsewhere in the United States; and have not been found by a court to be unable to communicate a desire to vote. The City of Hyattsville also allows non-U.S. citizens to vote in local elections. La Guía de Elecciones de la Ciudad de Hyattsville se ofrece en español, que se puede encontrar aquí.
Most Hyattsville residents are eligible to register to vote using the Maryland Voter Registration Form, found online or for pick up at the city building. City residents who are not United States Citizens or who do not wish to register to vote with the State of Maryland may use the Hyattsville Voter Registration Application, available online or for pick up at the city building. For the first time this year, residents from all wards can register to vote on Election Day at the city building.
