Congratulations to longtime resident Gloria Felix-Thompson, the City of Hyattsville’s 2013 Volunteer of the Year. In her many years of service to the city, Felix-Thompson has served in leadership positions with the Hyattsville Preservation Association, the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation, and the city’s Shade Tree Board as well as other committees. She founded and runs the Lively Arts in Hyattsville program, which has organized events ranging from a Viennese String Quartet to the annual Dogs for the Arts contest.
