Update: PGFD Bomb Squad gives “all-clear” on suspicious package at Northwestern High School

Posted on: December 8, 2015

BY REBECCA BENNETT —  Updated at 12:42 p.m.  Prince George’s County Fire & Rescue (PGFD) Spokesperson Mark Brady said the PGFD Bomb Squad gave the all clear after investigating a suspicious package at Northwestern High School Tuesday morning.

Brady said all students were evacuated and are okay. Reports of the evacuation came in just before 11 a.m., and students were allowed back into the building at approximately 12:10 p.m.

The item in question appears to be a speaker with wires and duct tape wrapped around it.  Brady said the suspicious item was non-hazardous and that it was a “good intent” call.

HL&T is following this story and will have more details as they are available.
